The play "Sweet Pepper" takes place in the early 1900's. The story line consiliach of a singing contest in a small town in the south.

A rich family, the Altamonts, are sponsoring the singing contest and providing a scholarship to singing school for the winner.

The second family, the Pepper's are a very poor family, however, the eldest daughter is very good friends with the eldest Altamont daughter.

They end up being the two main rivals in the singing contest. Polly Pepper, ends up winning the contest and the scholarship.

The play is being done by youth and adults from Rockford and being performed at the NRMS. Patricia Rose Borysiak wrote and directed Sweet Pepper.
